Field Descriptions

The Users Page

Field
Description

Search

Looks for users that match your input. You can search according to username, name, surname and email.

Filter

Enables you to filter the page according to the user type (User or Robot) and status (Active or Inactive).
The icon changes as follows:

  • filter_not_applied - a filter is not applied
  • filter_applied - a filter is applied; if you click the Filters button when it is in this state, all filters are removed.

Import Users

Enables you to import users from an Active Directory group, and displays the Import Users window. Note that this options is only available if you Enable Windows Authentication.

Add

add

Enables you to create a new user and displays the Provision User window.

Type

Indicates the type of entity displayed. The following are available:

  • user_icon - user
  • robot_icon - Robot

When you hover over the icons, you can select the user.

Username

The username or the Robot name.

Name

The name of the user. This field is empty if you did not fill in the Name field in the Provision User window.

Surname

The surname of the user. This field is empty if you did not fill in the Surname field in the Provision User window.

Email

The email address of the user. This field is empty if you did not fill in the Email Address field in the Provision User window. If this address is valid, email alerts are sent (if email alerts are enabled and the user has a role with view permissions on the Alerts page).

Last Login

The amount of time passed since the user last logged in to Orchestrator.

Units

Displays the organization unit(s) assigned to the user. Only displayed if organization units are enabled. See here how to enable them.

Roles

The role(s) assigned to the user. This field is empty if you did not fill in the Roles field in the Provision User window.

Status

The status of the user. Can be Active or Inactive.

Edit

edit

Opens the Edit User window that enables you to make changes to your user configuration. Editing a user requires your user to have View and Edit permissions on Users, as well as View permissions on Roles. Read more about roles.
Note: For Robots you can only edit roles. For users, the username cannot be changed.

More Actions

more_actions

Enables a drop-down with the following options:

  • View Profile - Opens the Profile window for the corresponding user. This option is only available for users and not Robot users.
  • Activate - Enables a deactivated user. Only users with the Administrator role can activate other users.
  • Deactivate - Makes the current user unavailable. Only users with the Administrator role can deactivate other users.
  • Remove - Remove the selected user. You cannot delete Robot users, and users with the Administrator role.

The Provision User Window

Username

Mandatory.
Your username. This is used when logging in to Orchestrator. If you add your AD username and leave the password field empty, Orchestrator automatically imports that user. If you add you AD username and add a custom password, the user is saved as a local one.

Domain

Optional.
This field should be used only if you want to add a domain user. Enables you to input the name of the domain or subdomain the user belongs to. Note that this options is only available if you Enable Windows Authentication.

Name

Optional.
Your name. This option is useful when Orchestrator is used by a large group of people.

Surname

Optional.
Your surname. This option is useful when Orchestrator is used by a large group of people.

Email address

Optional.
Your email address. This can also be used to log in to Orchestrator. This field needs to be populated with a valid email address if the user wants to receive email alerts. For more information, see Setting Up Email Alerts.

Password

Optional.
The password that you want to use when logging in to Orchestrator. Passwords must contain at least 8 characters and contain at least one letter and a digit.

Confirm Password

Optional.
The password retyped, to ensure no mistakes.

Roles

Optional.
The role(s) assigned to the user. You can add multiple roles.

Units

Optional.
This field is displayed only if organization units are enabled. The organization unit(s) assigned to the user. You can add multiple units.
This drop-down displays the first 20 organization units. Use the search functionality to find the unit that interests you.

Provision

Saves your user settings and closes the Provision User window.

Cancel

Closes the Provision User window without saving your settings.

The Edit User Window

Field
Description

Username

Your username. This field cannot be edited.

Name

Your name. This option is useful when Orchestrator is used by a large group of people.

Domain

Optional.
This field should be used only if you want to add a domain user. Enables you to input the name of the domain or subdomain the user belongs to. Note that this options is only available if you Enable Windows Authentication.

Email Address

Your surname. This option is useful when Orchestrator is used by a large group of people.

Password

The password that you want to use when logging in to Orchestrator.

Roles

The role(s) assigned to the user. To add a new role, click under the already assigned roles and select the one that interests you from the list.

Units

The organization unit(s) assigned to the user. To add a new organization unit, click under the already assigned unit(s) and select the one that interests you from the list.

Update

Saves your modifications and closes the Edit User window.

Cancel

Closes the Edit User window without saving your changes.

The Import Users Window

Important!

You can only access this window after Enabling Windows Authentication.

Field
Description

Group Name

Mandatory.
The name of the Active Directory group that you want to import.

Domain Name

Optional.
Enables you to specify the subdomain to which the users you want to import belong to. If this field is empty, the domain in the web.config file is used.

Roles

Mandatory.
Assigns one or multiple roles to all the users imported from the AD group.

Units

The organization unit(s) assigned to the user. You can add multiple units.

Import

Imports all users from the specified Active Directory group and assigns them the selected role(s).
Note: This button is visible only if Windows Authentication is enabled.

Cancel

Closes the Import Users window without importing users or saving your settings.
